The Alumni Office hosted our first virtual Career Day! From Manhattan to Marina Del Rey and Phoenix to Oakland, current Pilots enjoyed an afternoon of hearing from alumni as they shared their various careers and career paths.
Dorell Wright
The afternoon kicked off with our keynote speaker Dorell Wright. Wright is a former pro basketball player who now works with the Golden State Warriors as Pre / Post Game Radio Host. He shared his advice with students on how to recreate yourself when your career changes and the importance of having a good support system, such as family and friends that will be honest with you. Students asked insightful questions.
Prior to sending students off to the career workshops, our very own Murphy Holmes, Jr. ‘03 or otherwise known as Young Murph the Kid or YMTK sent in a special musical number for students to hear. Thank you YMTK for your inspiring musical performance.
In addition to Career Workshops, students were also able to attend workshops that specialized in resume writing, job searches and basic finances as you enter college, take out a college loan or get your first credit card.
