Congratulations to Cyrus Shahpar, SJND class of ’92, for being appointed to the Biden/Harris Coronavirus Task Force team! Cyrus is a part of the Agency Review Teams (ARTs), “ARTs are composed of highly experienced and talented professionals with deep backgrounds in key policy areas across the federal government.” –Biden/Harris PR team.
Cyrus and others are responsible for understanding the operations of each agency they are assigned to–ensuring a smooth transfer of power and preparing for President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris and their cabinet to hit the ground running on Day One.
After graduating SJND in 1992, Cyrus went on to get a B.A, in Public Health at John Hopkins University, followed by an MBA and an MD at the University of California Irvine and a PH in Biostatistics/Epidemiology at the University of California, Berkeley.
Cyrus has a background working with the Centers for Disease Control as an epidemiologist. He currently works as a director at the Resolve to Save Lives initiative where he launched the Prevent Epidemics team and oversees the science and epidemic intelligence activities.
