We are excited to announce the appointment of Jessica Park as the new vice principal of Saint Joseph Notre Dame High School!
Jessica Park has been with SJND for 13 years, including seven years as a math and science teacher and six years as the assistant principal of academics. In her current role, she designs and implements our academic program, oversees our Counseling and Technology departments, oversees and coordinates the ongoing WCEA (Western Catholic Educational Association)/WASC (Western Association of Schools) accreditation process, and has also served as a Senior and Freshman Class Moderator, club moderator, retreat leader, and on our Covid Operational Task Force team.
After graduating from Pepperdine University with a B.A. in Sociology, Jessica went on to receive an M.A. in Teaching from the University of San Francisco, as well as a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Math. She has had a profound impact on the academic life of our campus and states that she is “excited to help shape the future of education, not just at SJND, but by impacting the sector as a whole.” Passionate about education reform, Jessica believes that we are currently at a tipping point in education and the past year of virtual learning will act as a catalyst for positive change moving forward.
“Yes, the past year has been difficult, but it has shown how dedicated, innovative, and passionate our teachers truly are and I’ve never been prouder to call myself a pilot,” she states.
Since posting the vice principal position in mid-January, we’ve been blessed to have many qualified candidates apply. Thank you to everyone who has shown interest in the position and a special thanks to those who served on the search committee including teachers, staff, students, parents, Board of Trustee members, and administration. Throughout the interview process, Jessica Park’s qualifications and skills clearly demonstrated her aptitude and passion to further the school’s mission. We look forward to welcoming Jessica into her new role on July 1st.
