The SJND community just wrapped up their yearly Pennies with Purpose fundraiser to support local organizations. This year The Lilac Project Club sponsored the fundraiser, and all the money raised ($1,005.14!) went to the Pacific Center in Berkeley. This organization provides mental health support for the LGBTQ+ community and their family.
"The Lilac Project is honored to have been able to include the Tyler Clementi Foundation as a part of our activism for the LGBTQ community. We’re also grateful to have been joined by representatives of the Pacific Center who discussed their mission further with SJND students,” said Alana D'Cruz, the president of The Lilac Project.
The Lilac Project aims to promote body positivity, self-love, and mental health awareness within the SJND community. They strive to make every student feel comfortable in their own skin, which extends to the way they identify.
